The 99th La Fiesta de los Vaqueros Tucson Rodeo kicked off opening day on a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon! The day started with bareback riding with a huge score of 89.5 for Mason Clements on Beutler and Son’s Unleashed. Tanner Brunner  scored 5.5 in Steer Wrestling and Kelsey Phillips and Myles John scored 5.7 in team roping. Brody Cress rode Beutler and Son’s Red Wings to a high score of 86. Matt Gutierrez scored 11.7 in Tie-down roping. Our women’s event, barrel racing placed Molly Otto at the top with a score of 17.53. The day’s competition concluded with Clayton Sellars scoring 86.5 in bull riding. The Tucson Rodeo continues tomorrow for another day of rodeo action, gates open at 11am with ProRodeo starting at 2pm.
