TWO ROPING TEAMS SET NEW ARENA RECORD

(Tucson, Ariz.) – Matt Sherwood, Queen Creek, Ariz. and Randon Adams, Logandale, Nev. recorded a 4.9 second run on Thursday. Today, Derrick Begay, Seda Pealkai, Ariz. and Victor Aros, Tucson, Ariz., matched the time. Both teams are credited with the new Tucson Rodeo arena record for fastest single run in the team roping event. The previous record of 5.0 was set by Wade Wheatley, Hughson, Calif. and Klyel Lockett, Ivanhoe, Calif. in 2005.

Bull rider Steve Woolsey of Payson, Utah posted the best score of the week with 87 on Beutler & Son’s Little Marvin bringing the crowd of 6,875 to their feet.
